Chapter 7: Anagrams

Phineas and Ferb does not belong to me

He continues, “Joshsyn had several Agents assigned to him, but they all disappeared without a trace. Except one, who turned out to be a double agent. She went back to working with Joshsyn.”

“Zon Joshsyn? Strange name… It has a weird combination of letters in it.” Candace bites her lip. “I can’t believe that I’m so stupid!”

“Candace, you’re not stupid. Let me guess, you were excited about planning your honeymoon with Jeremy, so you forgot your video chat login again? So you grabbed the file, brought it up here, and set up with Jeremy, who is in New York right now with his aunt. Then, when Phineas came into the room with the catalogues, you stuffed it under the mattress intending to return it to our lair later?” Candace nods. The teal platypus sighs and shakes his head. “Okay, so, can Carl and I start changing all of your passwords while you go dress shopping with the moms?”

Candace nods again. “But make sure that they’re written down somewhere. Otherwise, I will forget them.” Perry rolls his eyes, and heads back to O.W.C.A. to confer with Carl. Candace runs out the door with Linda, and they pick up Mrs. Johnson on the way to the dress shop.

Chapter 8: Shopping for Telepathy

Phineas and Ferb does not belong to me

“What about this one?” Linda holds up a brilliant white dress, covered in prune coloured roses. Candace cringes.

“Umm… no offense, Mom, but, that isn’t really what I was thinking.” Candace shudders slightly. “Prune isn’t really my colour.”

Linda puts it back on the rack. “It’s not prune, it’s dark burgundy. But you’re right, it is kind of ugly.”

Mrs. Johnson stands behind Candace. “It’s prune. But those are all of the dresses in our price range. At least in this store.”

Candace sighs. “This is the seventh store today. There’s only one more wedding store in Danville!” A sales lady overheard this exchange, and fearing that they might lose customers, runs over.

She asks if they would like some assistance, and when she isn’t denied, leads them into another room. “These dresses are on sale, if you would like to try them on?” While Linda helps Candace try on the dresses, Mrs. Johnson looks through the others with the sales lady.

Meanwhile, Ferb is looking through flower shop flyers with Phineas back at the house, when he suddenly asks, “Did Candace seem a little worried when she left?”

For a moment, Phineas is taken by surprise. “Wait, what?”

“Candace.” Ferb picks up another flyer and flips through it. “She looked like she had just gotten bad news.”

Phineas thought back to when Candace had rushed downstairs to leave with Linda. “I guess… But maybe she was just worried about choosing the right dress?”

“No, Phin. She was really nervous. And it looked like she was puzzling something out in her head.” Ferb himself is feeling nervous. Even though he started talking more since dating Vanessa, it still feels almost unnatural. He tries to talk as little as possible at home, but with the wedding plans, he’s been talking a lot more there, too.

“I wonder what’s wrong…” Phineas is now worried about his sister. “Maybe you should talk to her when she gets back?” Ferb’s eyes widen slightly, like he’s saying “why me”, even though he doesn’t make a sound. “Because… um…” Phin  starts to reach up to scratch his ear, but stops himself. “Candace doesn’t exactly like being alone with me since she found out about… you know.” Ferb nods, agreeing to talk to his sister, and acknowledging Phin’s plight.

When Phineas was fifteen, Candace found out that her little brother has the ability to read peoples minds when he touches them. Despite Phin’s many attempts to calm her down with the fact that he has never read anyone’s mind, and never will, she is still very cautious about being alone with her brother and usually about touching him. “So. This flyer advertises flowers in Candace’s favorite colour, but they don’t have prices for them. We may need to actually make the flowers ourselves.”
