Chapter 45: Perry’s Weakness

Phineas and Ferb does not belong to me.

“Thank-you, Herman. We will review your information.” Rodney hangs up the phone and smiles at Zon. “He seems bad enough.”

She glares at him. “I traced the number to Australia, but before I could get any more information it was blocked, so I don’t have a return number. Plus, Herman Melville? That’s the guy who wrote Moby Dick!”

“Then why did you let me keep talking to him?” Rodney throws up his hands in defense as he realizes what Zon is talking about.

She shakes her head. “The name sounded familiar, so I searched it online. I’m only twelve, I haven’t read Moby Dick.”

--------------------------------------

“Really, guys? Herman Melville?” Perry raises one eyebrow at Phineas. Ferb is still typing ferociously at the computer, making sure that nobody will be able to trace the number to him.

Phineas shrugs. “What? It sounded good. Plus, I did a lot to get that name. I went back to the meanings of names, found Ahriman, which means evil spirit basically. Anagrammed it to come up with Hariman, which is an old Germanic form of Herman. And Melville means bad town. So, that name kinda means Evil Spirit Bad Town.”

“Actually, Herman means Army Man.” Ferb looks up from the computer. “I don’t think that anyone could trace that call to us, or this computer. At most they would be able to trace it to someplace in Canada.”

Perry spits out the translator. “I think I need to sit down.” He promptly passes out on the floor of his lair.

Phineas gasps and lifts the unconscious platypus onto a chair. “Okay, so some tweaking to that translator may be in order.”

Ferb picks up the translator. “Well, we can’t do much else tonight except maybe talk to Candace about that zebra…” He shakes his head confusedly, “We could work on it now.”

-----------------------------------

“He spoke with a strong Australian accent?” sighs and puts her head in her hands. “We were just infiltrated by O.W.C.A.’s top agent, Perry the Platypus.”

Rodney shakes his head. “Animals can’t talk. There was definitely someone talking on that phone.”

“Perry’s host family are all geniuses! They could have…” Zon Joshsyn’s face lights up in a huge smile. “Perry’s host family… I know who they are!” She presses a button on her desk, paging her master of disguises. “Oh, Dennis!”

Chapter 44: Calling The Enemy

(I still haven't mailed that letter... Actually, I can't find an address to mail it to. I guess most people just use email :) Phineas and Ferb does not belong to me.

After Ferb, Candace, and Perry revive Phineas, the four friends put their minds together to solve the problem of who should call Zon. As Suzy Johnson has never heard Perry talk, he was voted in. The phone rings twice, and then is picked up. “Hello, you have reached the evil lair of Zon Joshsyn. I am Aloyse Everheart Elizabeth Otto Wolfgang Hypatia Gunther Galen Gary Cooper von Roddenstein, her partner in world domination. How may I help you?”

Perry blinks a couple times, then he says, “Hello, I am an evil exchange student from Australia and I was wondering about an internship. I heard that you were the best in the business of enslaving and torturing civilians?”

Rodney grins evilly on the other end. He presses a button to trace the call. “Yes, yes we are. You are interested in an internship? Let me consult my partner. Please hold.” He presses a button on the phone and places it down next to him. “Zon, we have an exchange student from Australia who wants to apply for an internship. Can you please pass me the question forms?” The twelve year-old rolls her eyes and passes the forms to Rodney, who places them on his lap and picks up the phone again.

“So what’s the decision, Mate?” Perry grins on his side of the phone. Man, I haven’t said that in a long time. Phineas stares at his platypus, surprised. Perry winks at him and grabs the papers with the formulated lie answers on them.

Rodney looks over the papers in front of him and grabs a pen from his lap desk. I really need to start on emptying myself an actual office. Rodney is currently sitting on a folding chair in Zon’s office with a small piece of plywood balanced on his knees to hold his work. “We need you to answer a few questions first.”

Perry smiles, “All right, go ahead.” He holds a thumb up to Ferb and Phineas. They grin back.

Freaking Out (and Stuff About BTB)

Okay, so I finally wrote a letter to Dan Povenmire and Swampy Marsh. Wrote it. I haven't sent it yet. I'm honestly freaking out because I put the web address to THIS BLOG in it, and I don't know if they'll check it out or what, but I'm honestly on the fence about whether to send it or not.

I also have been writing non-stop in Behind The Busting. I still haven't figured out whether or not Phineas is going to figure out that the comic he's been drawing is almost reality or not, but I have an idea for a companion story where he does, and then Candace uses her memory erasure device on him. But so far, it's only an idea.

In other stuff, I'm ahead of schedule in Camp NaNoWriMo. I'm still not sure if I'm going to take an eraser to that letter yet. And I'm posting another sneak peek for BTB here. It's a sad song that Candace sings to her dead father onstage at the end of her summer camp. When my mother read it, she actually cried, so here goes.

Phineas and Ferb does not belong to me.

Candace calmly goes to the microphone and starts to sing,

"I'm standing on this stage, and I'm trying not to cry

as I stare into the lights I'm looking for your eyes.

every thing reminds me of the day you left Forever.

That day was the end of our lives together,

My life has changed, now I'm going in a new direction

Forever.

And I’m standing on this stage, I'm trying not to cry

as I stare into the lights I'm looking for your eyes.

every thing reminds me of the day you left Forever.

I find myself trying to find you in this crowd,

Hoping that you've come back some how

to see me up here again.

And I’m standing on this stage, and I'm trying not to cry

as I stare into the lights I'm looking for your eyes.

every thing reminds me of the day you left Forever.

I want you to see me up on the stage

You used to love to hear me sing

Now I'm singing you one last song

To say good-bye

Forever

I'm saying good-bye

Forever."

Candace hands the mike to the camp leader, tears streaming down her face.

So that's Forever by Candace Flynn. Well, actually, I was walking down the street and said to myself, "What if Candace was singing a song to Peter..." and I just started singing things in the Australian accent I assume Chi Vin uses. Honestly, I was just thinking of sad things to say, that if someone I loved died (really hoping it never happens) I would want to say to him or her to say goodbye forever.

In BTB, Peter Flynn was a large part of Candace's childhood (more than Linda, actually...) and when she was ten, he passed away (not sure what happened yet) leaving the broken girl with the mother she didn't really know and a little brother she had never met.

Over the next little bit of her life, she conforms on the outside to the girl that she thinks her mother wants her to be, while on the inside staying her father's Kevin. As she grows closer to Phineas and Ferb, she becomes more protective of them. There's actually a scene where I based her off 2nd Dimension Candace. (Oh and BTW, if you don't like spoilers, DO NOT READ THIS STORY. Actually, several scenes are based on the movie and other episodes, and they are referenced at some points.)

Phineas finds out some things about his father that had been kept from him his entire life. Actually, this was probably the hardest thing to write so far, because keeping Phineas in character when he's angry and hurt is very difficult.

Hope that I'm not boring you with this, and please prepare for the next chapter of (Maybe Not) tomorrow! (I haven't forgotten you.)

Behind The Busting Teaser

(I wrote the first part of this and immediately started wondering, "What if Phineas remembers partial things from the second dimension?" So, I wrote the second part.) Phineas and Ferb does not belong to me.

He chuckles a little and pulls out his sketch book. He opens it to the last page, a sequence from his cartoon about a platypus who is a secret agent. It just feels right some how.

...

Phineas sketches in the strong emotion in the platypus' eyes easily. Drawing just seems to come naturally for him, and some how, since... that day two summers ago he can't remember, this comic Idea had just come to him. He likes to toy with the idea that the day was erased from his mind by a secret government agency

(Yikes! Will he find out? Who knows, maybe. Honestly, I don't even know yet.) Please Comment!

Chapter 43: The Bad News Is, I’m Very Easily Thrown Off Topic.

Phineas and Ferb does not belong to me.

“Okay, I believe you. Suzy’s evil.” Phineas thinks for a moment, “Um… why haven’t Ferb and I ever been invited to an O.W.C.A. Christmas party?”

Perry rolls his eyes. “Monobrow only invites agents. He leaves it up to the agents to invite other employees, and up until a few days ago, you didn’t know about Candace and I being agents.”

“We’re all going over to Jeremy’s house tomorrow for breakfast with his entire family. The O.W.C.A. Christmas party is not a pressing matter right now.” Ferb stands up and looks at them. “The question is, do we confront her tomorrow, or do we wait until we have more proof?”

Candace stands up too. “I have no Idea. Phineas, Perry?”

“I think that she’s probably expecting us to try and confront her in front of Jeremy when we find out. We need to confront Suzy Johnson when she’s alone.” Phineas looks over at Perry.

He’s reading through the paper again. “I have an Idea. It’s 9:30 pm, right?”
“Um… Perry, aren’t you wearing your watch?” Candace tilts her head at O.W.C.A.’s top agent.

“Phineas?” Perry ignores her.

Phineas looks at his watch. “Yeah, around 9:30, why?”

Agent P smirks. “Because Rodney told all of L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N. his new workplace’s contact information and working hours. He may be an evil scientist, but he’s not the wisest person in the world.” He holds up the paper.

“Seriously? And Dr. D somehow managed to get it down on paper?” Candace obviously has absolutely no faith in Perry’s nemesis. “The guy who thinks that if Roger gets removed from ‘his mayoral throne’ his next of kin will inherit it?”

“Yeah. Apparently Rodney had several brochures about Joshsyn’s employee benefits to hand out. Heinz talks a lot. I left while he was still talking after I finished my tea.” Perry watches the reactions of his owners with amusement.

“Tea?” Phineas stares at the agent in absolute astonishment. “You sat down and had tea with your nemesis while the fate of the world (and my sister) was at stake?”

Ferb looks surprised as well. His eyes are trained on Perry. “I left as soon as I realized that information. Knowing Heinz, he’s probably still talking to me.”

“Perry, I didn’t know that you thought of him as Heinz.” Candace rubs her necklace again.

The platypus chatters something indistinguishable under his breath. “Don’t judge me, Kevin.” he says this louder.

“Kevin?” Phineas shakes his head in confusion.

Candace sits up straight and looks at Perry. “How do you know about that?” She turns around to check on the zebra sitting behind her on a rocking chair reading a magazine. The zebra looks up and waves at Candace briefly.

“Long, long story.” Perry thinks back to the nightmare he had about Candace dreaming. “And you talk in your sleep.”
Ferb puts his head in his hands, frustrated. “We’re getting distracted again.”

Perry sighs. “I guess that’s what happens when you have a platypus and a talking zebra in the same room as Candace.”

“A what?” Phineas spins around rapidly, checking to see if there’s a zebra behind him.

The platypus smiles, “No, Phineas. Only Candace can see the zebra.”

“Would you stop judging me?” Candace asks Perry.

The zebra looks up again, “I’m not judging you, Kevin.”

She turns around and yells at him, “You stay out of this!” Phineas faints.

Chapter 42: The good news is, Suzy Humiliating Candace in front of Jeremy is hard For Me to Get Down on “Paper”

Phineas and Ferb does not belong to me.

Candace presses a button on it, and the window behind the beds turns into a television screen. “What? When did… how did… we not find that?” Phineas points to the screen in astonishment. Suddenly, the screen flickers, and Suzy’s face fills the screen. Except, instead of the sweet face that the boys are used to seeing, she’s glaring at someone off camera. “Well, that doesn’t really mean that she’s evil…” He breaks off as Suzy starts talking.

“I am, and will always be, Jeremy’s favorite girl.” The camera angle changes, and Candace is sitting down on the ground, her face covered in pie. “Oh, here he is now. Jeremy! Jeremy!” Suzy goes immediately from angry to sweet and adorable.

“I…” Phineas stares at his older sister. His gaze goes back to the screen as another clip starts playing.

Suzy yells at an old lady, and receives an acorn. She holds it out for some squirrels to see, then hits it into Candace’s pants with a croquet mallet. After the street performers play a song about squirrels in your pants, in which Candace is jumping all over the place to hopefully dislodge them, Ferb moves over by Candace. “So that’s why you’re afraid of squirrels?”

Another clip starts playing as Candace nods. This one seems to be two years later. “Oh, I can’t watch this day.” She leans forward and puts her hands over her eyes. Perry smirks again.

“This is the one that Carl usually plays at Christmas.” He chatters, as Candace’s panic filled face fills the screen.

“What do you mean, Suzy’s coming to the movies with us?” the camera backs up to show Jeremy standing at the door of the Flynn-Fletcher house.

He looks down at the floor sadly. “Mom and Dad decided to go out to dinner tonight, and they need me to watch Suzy. I didn’t want to cancel with you, so…”

Candace bites her lip and looks down at her brand new dress nervously. “I guess it’s okay…”

They walk out to the car, and Candace immediately slips on some ice cubes sprinkled liberally over the driveway. Jeremy reaches down his hand and helps her up. Suzy’s face appears in the car window, glaring at Candace.

Candace gets into Jeremy’s car, and hops out again. there was a chocolate doughnut on the seat where she was sitting. “Oh,” Suzy’s eyes are wide with that innocent look, “That’s where I left my doughnut. You should really look where you’re sitting, Candace.”

“Suzy, I’ve told you not to put food on the seats.” Jeremy looks over at Candace, “Oh, Candace, I’m so sorry about your dress.”

The dress has several holes in the skirt, and the seat is now stained with chocolate. “Oh that’s okay, Jeremy. It’s an old one.” She lies outright.

Jeremy tries to clean off the seat. “Oh Suzy. This won’t come out.”

“I’m sorry, Jeremy. I forgetted.” The six year-old girl looks down at the floor of the car, and her eyes fill with tears.

Candace pauses the video. “Let’s not watch the whole date, because you guys cleaned Jeremy’s car out while we still took Suzy to the movies in my car, and then you ended up having to fix my car because she decided to press all of the buttons. Thank-you so much for doing that for us, again.” She switches the clips. “This is what Suzy was doing while Jeremy came to the house to get me.”

Suzy watches her brother go into the house, and when the door closes behind him, she reaches into the back of the car, and pulls out a cooler full of ice. Getting out of the car, she tosses the ice all over the Flynn-Fletcher driveway. The camera cuts to Suzy back in the car. She takes two bites of a doughnut, then places it deliberately in the passenger side seat, rubbing it around a bit, and slightly mashing it so that it will completely ruin whatever Candace is wearing. “How do you like that, Candace?” As Jeremy helps his girlfriend up, Suzy peeks out the window, and gives her older brother’s girlfriend her meanest glare as she throws the cooler into the backseat.

Chapter 41: Carl Answered His Communicator While He Was Under Water?

Phineas and Ferb does not belong to me.

“Perry, does Carl still have that Suzy footage that he uses at Christmas parties to humiliate me?” Candace closes her necklace.

Perry smiles, which is as close as he gets to laughing. “He has footage to humiliate everyone, Candace. Remember the year that he invited Heinz, just to play that video of him flushing himself down a toilet in just underwear and a cape?”

“Meat-Brick, Phineas needs to be convinced. Does Carl still have the Suzy footage?” Perry nods. “Good.” Candace turns on her wrist communicator and calls Carl. “Hey, Carl… Can you send me that Suzy footage? Phineas can’t wrap his mind around her being evil.”

“Zon Joshsyn is Suzy Johnson? Ohhhh! That makes so much sense. How did we not see it before?” Carl’s voice comes through the Ducky Momo watch. It sounds like he’s underwater.

Candace stares at the video screen. “Where are you? Never mind. Can you send it to me?”

Carl laughs. “Sorry, I’m in the swimming pool at my house. My pet otter got angry at me, so he’s hiding in here. I’m trying to coax him out. Sure, I can send you the footage.” He hangs up, and seconds later Candace’s watch beeps.

Sorry!

I'm sorry that I didn't update this week, everyone. I was "camping" (in quotation marks because the only thing we lacked was internet connection). And if you tried to come on and were blocked, it's because I had to mark it to private for the week. But, we're back on now, and I'll post the next chapter today, as well as my wordcount. :)
